These Terms and Conditions (the Terms) form a binding agreement between you and Nimu and govern your access to and use of the Service. Please read them carefully. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, govern your use of the Service. If a specific notice shown in the app for a particular feature conflicts with these Terms, that specific notice governs that feature. We may provide these Terms in more than one language for your convenience; if the versions differ, the English version governs.
The Service is provided and operated by Nimu (we, us, our). Nimu is an independent, fan-made anime release tracker: it shows when the next episode of a show airs, lets you keep a personal watchlist, and can notify you about new episodes for titles you follow. You can contact us at privacy@nimu.app. Full corporate details are available on request.
To create an Account and use the Service, you confirm that: you are at least 13 years old; if the law that applies where you live sets a higher minimum age for using online services without the consent of a parent or guardian, you meet that age or you have that consent; and the information you give us when you register is accurate. We collect your year of birth and country to check this. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use that information.
Nimu aggregates publicly available scheduling and catalog information about anime so that you can track when episodes air, plan what to watch, and be reminded about titles you follow. To be clear, Nimu:
The anime titles, artwork, schedules and episode information shown in Nimu are aggregated from third-party sources, including AnimeSchedule, TheTVDB, and the manami-project anime-offline-database (made available under the Open Database License, ODbL). We are grateful to these projects; use of their data remains subject to their own terms and licences.
Nimu is an independent, fan-made project. Nimu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to AnimeSchedule, TheTVDB, the manami-project, any anime studio, publisher or distributor, or any streaming platform linked from the Service. All anime titles, images, character names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify and describe the works, as reference and catalog information.
Schedule and episode data ultimately comes from studios, networks and streaming platforms and can change without notice, including delays, time-slot changes and cancellations. We work to keep it accurate but cannot guarantee that it is complete, accurate or current, and we are not responsible for decisions you make in reliance on a date or time shown in the Service.
When you use the Service, you agree not to:
We may suspend access while we investigate a suspected breach of this section.
We will send you account-related messages that are necessary to run the Service, such as email confirmation and password reset. These are not marketing. Separately, you may turn on episode notifications for titles you follow, and you may opt in to optional product or promotional messages. You can turn each of these off at any time in Settings, or through the unsubscribe link where one is provided. How we handle the related personal data, and the consent that some of these messages require, is explained in our Privacy Policy.
The Service may display advertising, potentially through Google AdMob and Google Ads, to help cover running costs. Advertising is not active at the time of writing. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before showing non-essential advertising or using advertising cookies or identifiers, and you may withdraw that consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer or as described in our Cookie Policy. We do not knowingly show personalised advertising to accounts registered as under the applicable age of digital consent.
The Nimu name, logo, user interface, design and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. The licence note in section 7 applies only to the third-party catalog data described there, and not to the Nimu application itself. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Nimu application without our prior written permission, except where the law allows it or an open-source licence we publish grants you those rights.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, platforms and services that we do not operate or control. We provide these links for convenience only, and a link is not an endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of any third party, and your use of a third-party service is governed by the terms and privacy policy of that third party.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, temporarily or permanently, including particular features, and we may set limits on certain features. We will try to give notice of material changes where reasonably possible. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
We may suspend or terminate your Account or your access to the Service if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we reasonably believe your Account was created or is being used fraudulently, abusively, or in a way that harms other users, third parties or us. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice. You may stop using the Service and delete your Account at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, as set out in section 21.
The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or reliability of the schedule and catalog data. Nothing in this section limits any statutory right you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, arising from or connected to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including missed episodes, incorrect schedule information, or downtime. Because the Service is provided to you free of charge, our aggregate liability to you for any claim connected to the Service is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you as a consumer.
You are responsible for your own use of the Service and for keeping to these Terms. To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting your statutory rights as a consumer, you are responsible for any loss we suffer as a direct result of your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.
We process personal data in connection with the Service as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which form part of your agreement with us. Please read them to understand how we collect, use and protect your personal data and the rights you have.
These Terms are governed by the law of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live that apply regardless of the choice of law. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and you may also use any out-of-court dispute resolution scheme available to you there. We will always try to resolve a dispute informally first, so please contact us before starting proceedings.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the Last updated date at the top of this page, and where a change is material we will make reasonable efforts to let existing account holders know, for example with a notice in the app. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the Service and delete your Account.
